Alaska Author Night – Rick Hoeberg
Though “Born in the USA,” I grew up in England, leaving me with a mixed notion of nationality that’s driven me to see myself as a citizen of Earth. A beautiful planet indeed, with one of its loveliest places, Alaska, my chosen home.
Have I done all the things Alaskans are expected to do? Guilty as charged, having fished, hunted (on horseback), mushed dogs, explored on a snow machine, dipped my toes in the Arctic Ocean (brr!), paddled the Yukon, built a cabin and house, and in the greatest achievement of my life, married a gorgeous Athabascan woman. Still to do: Summit Denali… perhaps someday.
After recently retiring from a career in various types of engineering, I’m onto my next chapter in life—writing and publishing adventures. That’s how I think life should be. An amazing adventure and I’d be honored if you choose to share in my High Mountain Tales which range from Alaska to infinity—and beyond!
