Our Mission

The purpose of the Fairbanks Library Foundation is to support all Fairbanks North Star Borough public libraries, to enhance their operations, to encourage and support expansion of library buildings, facilities and equipment, and to create, manage, and build an investment fund to assist in these endeavors.

What We Do

Seek funding to support the construction and maintenance of Borough public libraries, such as:

Purchasing Goods

Purchasing furniture for Alaska map database workstation, cyber bars, cell phone booths, carpeting, and reupholstering of furniture in Noel Wien Library.

Coordinating Fundraising

Coordinating fund raising for the new North Pole Branch Library.

Funding Programs

Funding reading programs, including the annual Summer Reading Program, Raven About Reading Program, and Cabin Fever Reader Program.

Enhancing Facilities

Purchasing, maintaining, and hanging fine art in Noel Wien and North Pole Branch Libraries.

Managing Programs

Managing the award-winning Alaska Guys Read Program.

Ongoing Fundraising

Coordinate ongoing fundraising through our Book Tile Program, the Gold Card Program, participation in the Permanent Fund’s Pick-Click-Give program, the Amazon Smile program, and the Fred Meyers Community Rewards programs, and sales of books, posters, cards, and other items at the Library on our website.
